Makes Living Life on my Own Terms so Easy!
By Lilly H., 29
I have dealt with incontinence my entire life. It's difficult to explain my condition, as we don't really know the cause of it. We have been to many doctors and urologists, but hey, some things are just a mystery. For as long as I can remember, I have relied on protective incontinence products to help me feel secure in my day-to-day life. In the beginning, I will admit it was difficult, especially dealing with teasing from other kids. As I got older, however, I realized that it was something many people dealt with, so I learned to be confident in myself. Incontinence is simply one facet of me. It does not define who I am as a person, and I should not let it take control of my life.
It took me a while to realize this, but I am glad I did. The anxiety and stress that I dealt with for so long was a massive weight that had finally been lifted off of my chest. It certainly helps there are now a plethora of incontinence products to protect me, my sanity, and my pants! It is reassuring that there are products available to help get me through even the worst of my incontinence, which can be quite severe at times.
I used to be afraid of going out in public, as older products would often leak, leading to embarrassment and sprints to the bathroom to change my clothes. I would always have to have an excuse on hand to act as a cover up. “I spilled my drink,” or “I fell in a puddle,” became common phrases. Nowadays, I never have to worry about that, because LivDry makes quality products which have lived up to their name, time and time again. I live my life, and I live it dry, never having to worry about leaks.
I will admit, it is still a sensitive topic for me, especially since I am still young enough to be in the dating scene. But that is why I am sharing my story now, so we can end the stigma around incontinence, and everyone can understand that this is something normal, and not a rare occurrence at that. With the right products, self-care, and with a boat load of confidence, I would like to announce to the world that I have incontinence, and I am not ashamed of it!
